Mrs. Tameka Long is a dedicated educational leader and lifelong advocate for student success, serving as the Assistant Principal of Cliftondale Elementary School. With over 20 years of experience in education, Mrs. Long has devoted her career to empowering students, supporting teachers, and fostering a culture of excellence in learning.

A proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Mrs. Long firmly believes in the transformative power of education and its ability to change lives. Her greatest passion is literacy, and she is deeply committed to ensuring that all students develop strong reading skills that will serve as the foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. She believes that teaching children to read is one of the most important responsibilities of an educator and takes pride in helping students discover the joy and confidence that comes through literacy.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Long has been recognized for her dedication to academic excellence, student advocacy, and collaborative leadership. She remains committed to creating positive learning environments where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Guided by the belief that education opens doors to opportunity, Mrs. Long continues to make a lasting impact on the students, families, and educators she serves.

Brook Everett is an experienced educator and Instructional Math Coach entering her 18th year in education. She began her career in the Thomasville City School System, where she developed a strong foundation in elementary education and a passion for supporting student learning. During her eighth year of teaching, she relocated to the Atlanta area and joined Wolf Creek Elementary School, serving as a first-grade teacher, second-grade teacher, and Early Intervention Program (EIP) teacher.

Her diverse classroom experiences and passion for mathematics education led her to transition into instructional coaching. For the past five years, Brook has served as an Instructional Math Coach, supporting teachers, strengthening instructional practices, and promoting meaningful mathematics learning for students. She remains committed to instructional excellence, teacher development, and creating engaging, student-centered mathematics experiences while empowering educators and building teacher capacity.

Born in Queens, New York, Brook moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at a young age. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2008, a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Thomas University in 2010, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Mathematics in 2012, and a Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Thomas University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and her dog, as well as coloring, building LEGO sets, and crafting.

Ms. Haley has more than 11 years of experience in education and is passionate about literacy, instructional excellence, and helping every student reach their full potential. With experience in both general and special education, she has supported students with a wide range of strengths and learning needs. She believes that investing in teachers is one of the most powerful ways to positively impact student success and is dedicated to helping educators create engaging learning experiences that foster curiosity, strengthen literacy skills, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Since joining the Cliftondale Elementary family in 2022, Ms. Haley has enjoyed building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families while contributing to a school community committed to the success of every child. As Literacy Coach, she partners with teachers to strengthen literacy instruction, support student achievement, and cultivate a collaborative culture where both educators and students continue to grow. She values the partnership between school, home, and community and believes that working together creates the best opportunities for children to thrive as confident readers, writers, thinkers, and lifelong learners.

Ms. Haley earned an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University, a master’s degree in Multiple and Severe Disabilities from Georgia State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. She is also Reading Endorsed and LETRS trained and is committed to continuous learning. Her dedication to education has been recognized throughout her career, including being named a Teacher of the Year finalist during the 2023-2024 school year and Cliftondale Elementary School’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. She considers these honors especially meaningful because they reflect the support and trust of the colleagues and school community she is grateful to serve.

Ms. Hall has over 30 years of experience in education and currently serves as the MTSS/504 Specialist at Cliftondale Elementary School. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to supporting the academic, career exploration, and the social/emotional success of students. Her educational experience includes 21 years as a classroom teacher, eight years as a school counselor, and the 2026-2027 school year marks her second year in her current MTSS/504 Specialist role. Although relatively new to the title, she now has a total of over nine years of MTSS/504 experience, having successfully managed these responsibilities as part of her work as a school counselor.

Ms. Hall is passionate about ensuring that all students receive the supports and accommodations they need to thrive. Her diverse background in teaching, counseling, and student support services provides her with a well-rounded perspective that helps foster student achievement and success.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Hall is the proud mother of two adult children and “G-Mama” to five granddaughters. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cheering on her favorite NFL team, the Baltimore Ravens. As she looks ahead, she plans to continue serving the students, educators, families, and all other stakeholders of the Cliftondale Elementary School community for a few more years before retiring from a fulfilling and rewarding career in education.

Yazmin Hicks is a dedicated educational leader committed to empowering students, supporting educators, and building strong school communities. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she is a proud graduate of Riverwood International High School. Mrs. Hicks began her educational career in 2014 as a kindergarten teacher in South Carolina before joining Fulton County Schools, where she taught second grade at Brookview Elementary School.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University and a Master of Education in Reading Instruction from the University of West Georgia. She also earned Reading (P–12) Certification and Literacy Specialist (P–12) Certification. Throughout her career, Mrs. Hicks has served as a Classroom Teacher, Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher, Math Support Teacher, and Curriculum Support Teacher. She has coached teachers, analyzed student achievement data, led professional learning communities, and supported schoolwide instructional improvement to increase student success.

Mrs. Hicks currently serves as the Curriculum Support Teacher at Cliftondale Elementary School, where she collaborates with teachers, administrators, students, families, and the community to strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes. Her dedication to educational excellence has been recognized through honors including Teacher of the Year (2019–2020) and Professional of the Year (2025–2026). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, traveling, and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons.

Kenyetta Johnson is a dedicated educator who has served students and families since beginning her career in education in 2012 as a long-term substitute teacher. In 2013, she earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Greensboro College, building upon her Bachelor of Arts in Business from North Carolina A&T State University. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ms. Johnson remained in her hometown until relocating to Fulton County, Georgia, in 2018.

Ms. Johnson has been a valued member of the Cliftondale Elementary School community for the past eight years. She began her tenure as a 4th Grade English Language Arts teacher, where she developed a passion for literacy instruction and student success. Throughout her educational career, she has earned a Reading Endorsement and has served in a variety of instructional leadership capacities. Currently, she is the 3–5 Instructional Reading Coach and is entering her fifth year in this role, supporting teachers and students through high-quality literacy instruction, data-driven practices, and collaborative professional learning.

Committed to fostering academic excellence and a love of reading, Ms. Johnson strives to create learning experiences that empower students to reach their full potential. Her dedication to literacy and student achievement has made a lasting impact on the Cliftondale community. Outside of school, she enjoys spending quality time with her two daughters and creating meaningful family memories. She is honored to serve the students, families, and staff of Cliftondale Elementary School and remains committed to helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.

Sarah Porter is an educator with over 15 years of experience in elementary schools. She began her career as an elementary educator and spent 13 years teaching third, first, and second grade. During her time in the classroom, she witnessed the impact of social and emotional learning (SEL) on scholars, which inspired her to dedicate her career to supporting students academically, behaviorally, and socially. This led her to become a school counselor in 2025.

As a big kid at heart who believes learning should be both rigorous and fun, Ms. Porter practices a holistic, person-centered approach to school counseling grounded in play. She believes that play is an essential part of learning and development. Through whole-group instruction, small-group counseling, and individual counseling, she provides intentional support that promotes self-autonomy, problem-solving, and the development of social-emotional skills essential for lifelong success.

Ms. Porter earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Cedarville University and her master’s degree in Professional Counseling, with a concentration in School Counseling, from the University of West Georgia. She also holds licensure as an Associate Professional Counselor. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, reading the Harry Potter series, and eating hot wings. She believes parents are their children’s lifelong teachers and is committed to partnering with families to create a positive and meaningful experience for all learners at “The Dale.”

Dr. George Shabo is a dedicated educator and instructional leader with more than 20 years of experience serving students with diverse learning needs. He began his career with Clayton County Public Schools in 2002 as a Special Education Teacher and spent seventeen years in the classroom working with students with a wide range of disabilities. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to providing meaningful educational opportunities, individualized support, and high-quality instruction while continually pursuing advanced degrees and professional learning opportunities.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Shabo served as a Special Education Department Chair and as a PBIS Chair and Coach, supporting educators with instructional planning, compliance, and effective practices while helping establish positive behavioral supports that strengthened school culture. He later transitioned into educational leadership as an Instructional Support Teacher at Cliftondale Elementary School, where he collaborates with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to ensure students receive the individualized services they need, including support for IEP development, specially designed instruction, interventions, and special education identification processes.

A passionate advocate for inclusive education, Dr. Shabo believes every child can succeed when provided with high expectations, strong relationships, and meaningful support. He earned a Master of Education from Walden University, an Educational Specialist degree from Missouri University, and a Doctorate in Special Education from Northcentral University. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his five rescue dogs, exploring on his jet ski, writing and recording music, and enjoying an extra cup of coffee. He considers it a privilege to serve the Cliftondale Elementary community and remains committed to supporting the success of every student, educator, and family.
